Introduction
The Department of Chemistry, Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dr.
Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli, organized a One-Day Workshop on
Research Methodology for M.Sc.-I and M.Sc.-II students on Thursday, 13
August 2026. The workshop was designed to provide students with an
understanding of important aspects of research methodology, including selection
of research problems, literature survey, research design, scientific
information resources, data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing.
The programme was conducted from 10:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and
comprised an inaugural ceremony, three technical sessions, a lunch break, and a
valedictory ceremony with certificate distribution.
Inaugural Ceremony
The workshop commenced with the inaugural ceremony from
10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The ceremony included a welcome and introduction by Ms.
V. D. Salunkhe, followed by the welcome of dignitaries by Prin. (Dr.) D.
G. Kanase. Dr. S. R. Sabale graced the occasion as the Chief Guest,
while Dr. A. R. Supale, Vice-Principal, was also present.
The Chief Guest, Dr. S. R. Sabale,
delivered the address, followed by the Presidential Address by Prin. (Dr.)
D. G. Kanase. The inaugural ceremony concluded with the Vote of Thanks
proposed by Ms. S. S. Patil. Ms. S. B. Vadgave served as the
anchor for the programme.
Session I: Fundamentals of Research Methodology &
Selection of Research Problems
The first technical session was conducted from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. by Dr. T. R. Lohar. The session focused on the fundamentals of research methodology and the selection of appropriate research problems. The session provided a foundation for understanding the research process and the importance of identifying suitable and meaningful research problems.
Session II: Literature Survey, Research Design and Scientific Information Resources
The second session was conducted from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. by Dr. S. T. Mane. The session covered literature survey, research design, and scientific information resources. The session highlighted important components of the research process and helped students understand the role of scientific literature and information resources in planning research work.
Session III: Research Data Analysis, Interpretation and Scientific Writing
The third technical session was conducted from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. by Dr. V. P. Shinde. The session dealt with research data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing. The session addressed important stages involved in handling research data and communicating research findings in a scientific manner.
Valedictory Ceremony and Certificate Distribution
The workshop concluded with the Valedictory Ceremony and Certificate Distribution from 5:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The successful completion of the programme provided the participating M.Sc. students with an opportunity to gain structured exposure to various components of research methodology through three focused technical sessions.
Outcome of the Workshop
The workshop covered the major stages of the research
process, beginning with the fundamentals of research methodology and selection
of research problems, followed by literature survey and research design, and
concluding with data analysis, interpretation, and scientific writing.
The programme therefore provided students with a systematic
overview of the essential elements required to undertake and communicate scientific research. The participation of experienced resource persons and the
structured sequence of sessions enhanced the workshop's academic value.
The One-Day Workshop on Research Methodology was
successfully completed on 13 August 2026 at the Department of Chemistry,
Bharati Vidyapeeth’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli. The workshop
addressed essential aspects of research methodology relevant to M.Sc.-I and
M.Sc.-II students and concluded with the valedictory function and distribution
of certificates.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. S. T. Mane, with Dr. A. R. Supale as IQAC Co-ordinator and Prin. (Dr.) D. G. Kanase Sir as Organising Chairman.
