The webinar was jointly organized by
Department of Chemistry and Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), Bharati
Vidyapeeth’s Dr. Patangrao Kadam Mahavidyalaya, Sangli, for B.Sc. and M.Sc.
students on Saturday, 26th March 2022. The theme of webinar was “Lab
Safety in Chemistry Labs”. The main objective of this webinar was to create
awareness about safe laboratory practices among the students.
The
100 participants were attended webinar through google meet platform (http://meet.google.com/qnq-wotv-qga).
The webinar was graced by Prin. Dr. D. G. Kanase (Member, Management Council, Shivaji University, Kolhapur), Dr. G. S. Grover (Resource person), Dr. (Mrs.) P. M. Patil (In-charge, Science Faculty), Mr. T. R. Sawant (In-charge, Arts and Commerce Faculty), Dr. A. R. Supale (Co-ordinator, IQAC), Dr. T. R. Lohar (Convener) and faculties from Department of Chemistry. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. A. R. Supale give welcome speech and introduces chief guest. Dr. G. S. Grover (Task Group Chair, IUPAC Safety Training Program Regional Project India,) Former Chief Scientist & Head, Safety Management, CSIR- National Chemical Laboratory, Pune has given information on lab safety from 12.00 pm to 1.30 pm.
He has engaged the 100 participants during his talk with same excitement from start to end. He introduced the audience about how to take care in the chemistry lab while doing work. After the resource person lecture, there was a question-answer session. He has created truly awareness among participants with following some basic instructions:

In the valedictory Function,
Prin. Dr. D. G. Kanase really appreciated and congratulated for organizing such
type of activity in the college. He said this Lab safety webinar will bring the
awareness in the student while doing practical’s in chemistry lab. Hence it
becomes extremely important to shape them competent to become responsible
chemists. Finally, Dr. T. R. Lohar concluded webinar by delivering vote of
thanks.
